Lamsma Veldstra & Lobé Advocaten has been practising for over 25 years and, by Dutch standards, is a medium-sized law firm with both a national and international focus. The practice focuses on a client base of small through to large companies and (institutional) service providers. Our office is located in the heart of Rotterdam, in the Scheepvaartkwartier.
As a Rotterdam-based firm we use the proverbial, no-nonsense ‘Rotterdam’ approach. The original founders of the firm held entrepreneurial and management functions in the business world, which resulted in a business approach to the practice of law. Our services are based on the individual lawyers’ interest in the activities of the client. Quality and involvement are key concepts in our service provision.

We aim to consistently advise and support our clients in the capacity of business partner and consultant, and to maintain intensive contacts with our clients. Inherent in this approach is the fact that our lawyers should preferably not be consulted when - expected or unexpected - legal problems arise, but at the very earliest stage, for instance at the time contracts are negotiated and formulated. This approach prevents or limits problems before they arise. This is why a large proportion of the activities of Lamsma Veldstra & Lobé Advocaten consists of consultancy and preventative advice. The objective is to prevent or limit dispute settlement in the traditional sense, through legal procedures, as much as possible.

The latter is also a result of our view that clients generally experience legal procedures as being counterproductive, both in an economic and a commercial sense. We prefer to look for creative solutions that prevent conflicts in the first place. However, if legal proceedings are inevitable, these will be initiated and completed with the involvement, decisiveness and expertise our clients have come to expect from us.
