Comprehensive legal services for entrepreneurs and enterprises. Nationally and internationally, but in the Rotterdam way.
Accessible, flexible and fast.
Advice before proceedings
Born and raised in Rotterdam. From the south. Not afraid to roll up his sleeves. Curious. A fascination for doing business, which is why he became an entrepreneur. A focus on corporate law and insolvency law. Advice where possible, proceedings where necessary.
Human work and subject content
Stands alongside his clients. They refer to him as accessible, reliable and involved. He sees that as completely normal. “Sound work is the foundation. It is a combination of human work and subject content.” He likes to be in the vanguard. Not so surprising, as a runner. The basketball court used to be his territory, now it’s the tarmac around Rotterdam. From the National Championships on the track to the Rotterdam Marathon.
Originally from Austria, but stayed in the Netherlands for love. Having spent two years at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and studying human rights, he decided to do a PhD in the field of media law and intellectual property. This field is very close to his heart. Especially if it is complex and relates to technology in some way.
Making decisions for the long term
Is just as careful in his proceedings as he is in his relationships with clients. “You draw on the subject of law for certainty, but in practice it all comes down to good communication. Solutions also need to be effective in the long run. You need to make decisions, but not just go for the quick and easy option.” Wolfgang enjoys travelling to ‘unusual’ holiday destinations with his family: Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia… and he would really like to have more time to dedicate to kite-surfing again.
Music, construction and law
Genuine attention. Two key words in his work. He started off in the field of music, but soon after joined the construction sector, where he worked independently in the field of restoration. He studied law in the evenings. He has stuck with all three disciplines; music is a hobby. In addition to corporate law, he also specialises in international and national construction law. He was one of the founding members of the international group of offices Legal Netlink Alliance. He is an adviser to politicians and the director of business and social organisations. He gives post-academic masterclasses to construction professionals.
Someone who wants to get to know his clients properly, from the work hut to the boardroom. Is often involved in the earliest stages of the planning process. The human dimension and relationships are key, also in major corporations. “Act preventively”. “Creative solutions with respect for all involved parties”. “Prevent proceedings”. Gets his teeth into the sector and the markets in which his clients operate. With a smile on his face, he refers to it as market knowledge as a legal area. Just like in his jazz band or when rustling something up in his kitchen: technology and creativity can’t exist without each other.
Bordewijk’s novel Karakter planted the seed for her to want to become a lawyer. Ever since then, it has been her passion. She even worked at a detective agency when she was only at secondary school. It is now corporate law in the broadest sense, with a focus on employment law. She is also very skilled when it comes to mediation.
Curious, involved, with a preference for international affairs, whether or not in cooperation with colleagues from Legal Network Alliance. Always looking for the best solution, which may sometimes involve settling things as quickly and advantageously as possible. A lawyer for more than 25 years. Proud of the fact that her very first client is still her client today.
